The Information Launches a New Top 10 Tech News App for $30 a Year

On the eve of The Informations sixth birthday, the technology news publisher launched a new app, Tech Top 10 by The Information, for $29.99 a year, or $2.99 a month. Available for iOS and Android, the app includes the top 10 technology stories as well as breaking news alerts, a calendar of upcoming events and more. This app will supplement The Informations primary subscription, available for $400 a year, which includes tech stories readers wont find elsewhere, exclusive articles, conference calls, newsletters and more.

Five on Friday: Personalized Ads, Screaming Deals and Streaming Music

As we head into the holiday season and toward the New Year, subscription companies are making big moves. To prepare for the California Consumer Privacy Act, which will go into effect in January, Google is allowing websites and apps the ability to block personalized ads. Last weekend, Hulu made the most of the holiday shopping season by offering a screaming deal on its streaming video on demand service.
